Alarm’s Gathering comes home to Prestatyn

Prestatyn will be rocking old-school style at the end of the month as The Alarm go home for their annual Gathering event. It will be the band’s first Prestatyn gig for 20 years.

The weekend of January 29 and 30 will see Mike Peters and his band head up a celebration of their life and work with thousands of their ardent fans.

Buchanan, Beck to wed

Meghan Buchanan, of Denver, Colo., and Chris Beck, of Juneau are engaged to be married May 22, 2010, in Seattle, Wash.

The groom is a private banker for Wells Fargo in Juneau, and the bride is a spacecraft survivability engineer for Lockheed Martin.

After the wedding, the couple plans to reside in Juneau. For their honeymoon, they are going to climb Mount Fuji in Japan as part of a cancer awareness nonprofit group Love Hope Strength.

Bowling event to help raise money for nursing students
