Alan Robinson, nickname “Arffy” 52 years old from San Clemente
Ca. Born in the UK in Wallasey (not too far from Mike Peters) and emigrated
with family to California in 1967. I have lived in California for most of my
life with a short stint in the Air Force for four years in South Dakota.
I’ve had a successful career as a Firefighter /Paramedic with the Orange
County Fire Authority for the past 28 years. Presently assigned as a Captain
Paramedic on Engine 60 serving the city of San Clemente – my hometown. I’m
blessed to be living in a great environment for outdoor activities – I enjoy
hiking and skiing in the local mountains as well as taking long road trips
and traveling afar and wide around this great planet. I was drawn to LHS
from watching “Everest Rocks”, for the past few years I have supported and
followed LHS as they ventured off to the Inca Trail and Machu Pichu and
scaled Mt Kilimanjaro – all along the way the LHS Foundation has blossomed
into a very worthwhile cause supporting those in need around the world who
are unable to afford or even find cancer treatment. Unfortunately, cancer
continues to conquer the human race, including many Firefighters… So my
goal here is two pronged – First; To raise awareness and secure much needed
funds for the LHS Foundation and therefore help conquer Cancer. Second; To
finally get off my lazy butt in the fifth decade of my life and accomplish
something that I have not done, climb a 14,000 Peak in honor of all of my
brother firefighters across the USA who have faced this terrible disease.
So, please feel free to place your bets – in the form of Pledges to this
very important cause!
