My name is Brenda Quinn, but my friends usually call me BQ or Buddha Brenda. I have lived in Colorado for 25 years and love it because of the year round sunshine and opportunity to get up and go hiking, biking, walking, just about anything really, every day.
Love Hope Strength is a foundation that has recently been introduced to me by good friends that are involved. I have been searching for the right place to join the fight against cancer and found it in LHS. The sense of community and the LHS message is truly inspiring.
We have all been touched by cancer in some way. My Mother died of cancer six years ago. She lived a very healthy, active life and would go on Pikes Peak Rocks with me, I’m sure, if she were alive today. She would have loved it! As a kid in Iowa, Mom and I were always off on some kind of active adventure, biking, camping, taking a road trip or hiking. She will always be my source of inspiration to get out and experience life.
I also just lost a childhood friend last month after her 5 ½ year battle with cancer. Her Care Pages motto was “can do attitude”. If Traci had the strength to fight so long, I know I have the strength to summit 14,111 feet to honor her, my Mother and the many other people who battle cancer.
