Carrie’s running a 50-mile race for LHS

Well, it’s official (no, not that I’m TOTALLY crazy, but maybe a little).

I am running the 50-mile ultra this coming July 17th in Leadville. Some call it crazy, I call it a challenge and an adventure. I am running this event for many reasons. One is for the challenge mentally, physically, and spiritually. For most of you who have done something in your life that you never thought you could do, but did, how did that make you feel? When was the last time you challenged yourself to something you thought impossible? That is what I have set out to do. Like many of my friends and anyone in life say, “it isn’t about the finish, it’s about the journey getting there”.

I was inspired to do this race one day when I was sitting in my chair on a beautiful day not being able to run because I strained my hamstring. I was so mad!! Then it hit me… What if I wasn’t able to ever run or do the things I take for granted? My friend Shannon Foley came to mind. Shannon’s dedication and sacrifice to put her heart into something she believes in and help a cause that could help thousands of people who may not have the opportunity that I have everyday. I am running this race to support her foundation Love, Hope, Strength. Below is the link that will direct you to the information regarding this foundation and its strong determination to make a difference. I ask you to help me along this journey by giving a donation to this foundation and its strong belief in working to fight this disease.

For every person donating $50 I will give $5 off their next massage and for donations of $100 or more will receive $10 off. Let’s do this together!
