Heather Behringer is originally from Minnesota but grew up in California. After high school graduation, Heather moved to Texas and earned a BA from University of Texas at Austin. After University she worked in the commercial real estate industry leasing and managing office buildings until she became a mom to Alexandra, 12, Jordan, 9 and J.D., 9. Currently, Heather lives in Dallas, Texas and is a “stay at home” Mom.
As most people are able to say, cancer has touched Heather’s life all around her. Currently, her maternal grandfather is battling non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The prognosis now is not known. Grandad has been stable for many years but has recently taken a turn for the worse.
Heather’s participation in Mt. Fuji will be a celebration of the recovery for those she loves who have beaten cancer: James Chippendale, who has been leukemia free for 9 years now; her step mom, Janet, who has recently beat breast cancer, but not before undergoing a double mastectomy and chemo. Also, one of Heather’s dearest friend’s daughter, is cancer free after having undergoing treatment for a Whilms tumor.
Last year, Heather participated in Pikes Peak Rocks which raised money for bone marrow drives and in 2008, she participated in Peru Rocks and found it to be one of, if the not the most, meaningful experiences of her life. The physical challenge was inspiring and to enter into a new culture with the intent and purpose of helping the community is beyond explanation. Tangibly seeing who and how the organization is helping is infectious and it left Heather wanting to do more. She hopes to be involved in as many Love Hope Strength journeys as possible in the future!
Heather thanks each and every one of you for your support, and be rest assured; your money is making a difference through Love Hope Strength!
THANK YOU!
