I am Joanne Silverman. I am 67 years old and live in Sunfish Lake, MN. My husband is Michael and my two daughters and son-in-laws are Julie (who will be hiking with me) and David, and Natalie and Nick. I have 6 fabulous grandchildren! When I am not spending time with them or friends, I am working out, reading, working at a clothing store in Minneapolis, traveling, or playing golf. My husband’s brother, Tony (who will be hiking), lost his son Bill in a car accident 12 years ago. Bill was a close friend of one of the founders of Love Hope Strength (JC). I knew I wanted and needed to participate in Hope Rocks because I have lost my mother, my father, my sister, my sister-in-law, and several close friends to cancer. I also know lots of people who are survivors. This hike is for all of them, and I am grateful to be a part of something that is helping in our fight against cancer. Thanks for your support!
