I am Joy Clark from Denver, CO. I found out from a friend about the Pikes Peak Rocks Journey and the concert at the top would feature Kevin Bacon. As all my friends and fiancé know, I love Kevin’s acting and when I discovered he was a singer too, I became an immediate fan. I am usually embarrassed to admit, but I have allowed two trips to be planned around when the Bacon Brothers were going to be in that city. I also love to support charities that put on fun events that make charitable giving worthwhile. I have organized my office’s group for the Susan G Komen in Denver (one of the largest 5k races in the US) for the last 5 years and I like to do other events such as the 150 mile bike ride for the Children’s Hospital in Denver. I am fortunate to live in Denver, that allows me the ability to enjoy hikes, running, skiing, triathlons, and yoga. I have done several hikes and I work close to Pikes Peak, but I have never made the trek up the mountain.

When my friend told me that the Bacon Brothers would be at the top of Pikes Peak, I could get to hike a 14er that I haven’t hiked yet, and I get to raise money for a wonderful cause, I couldn’t resist the urge to sign up immediately without even thinking about it. I look forward to the challenge of the hike and the amount of money I can collect for Love Hope Strength. I am dedicating this hike to all my friends that have suffered or are suffering with cancer, and I will spend a good portion of the hike thinking of each one of you!!
