Hello friends and Pike’s Peak Supporters! I’m a Vail, Colorado native and love to hike, bike and play in Colorado’s mountains. And most of you also know I’d rather climb a mountain on my Hello Kitty Cruiser, but since that isn’t an option this time around, I’m going to hike my butt up Pike’s Peak with the rest of the Love Hope Strength (LHS) crew….and I’m asking you to support me and LHS by making a donation on my behalf.

For those of you that don’t know, Love Hope Strength is a global cancer foundation that’s goal is to fight cancer and support cancer patients now…..not through funding research, but by building cancer centers worldwide, buying detection and treatment equipment for countries without and by registering people to join the national bone marrow donor registry. Last year we registered over 4,000 new people to the national registry at events like music festivals and concerts and were able to find 30 new donor matches.

Obviously we’ve all been touched by cancer and for me, this is a foundation that positively impacts those in my life who have been affected by cancer and an organization that allows me to help make a difference in the lives of the 1 in 3 people who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

My close friend and ‘adopted’ son, Lucas (now 30), is a two time Leukemia survivor and a bone marrow transplant recipient……he is one of the lucky ones. At any given time there and roughly 6,000 people in the U.S. waiting for a bone marrow transplant and countless thousands more throughout the world. Please help me, LHS and their partners and sponsors take the fight against cancer to new heights (14, 111 feet to be exact!) by donating to support us as we climb Pike’s Peak July 31st, 2010.
