Shannon was born and raised in Marion, Ohio, the popcorn capital of the world, and spent much of his youth devising escapes to less vertically-challenged terrain. He’s climbed, biked, hiked, and eaten cheeseburgers in all 50 states and after stints living in Pennsylvania, Arizona, and a VW van, Shannon is living with his wife and two dogs outside of Boulder where he is Senior Editor at Backpacker magazine.
Shannon’s mom, Linda, beat breast cancer four years ago, and he can’t wait to tackle Pikes Peak (and hear some great music) with other similarly joyous and thankful people. Thanks for your support in helping me reach my donation goal.
