I am Sheri Abrams. I am 57 years old and live in Minneapolis MN. I run a motorsports dealership, love to work out, spend time with my family and friends, read, listen to music and just enjoy life. I am blessed with a wonderfully, loving and supportive husband, Steve, who will also be hiking with me. Together we have an incredible family – 3 daughters, one son and five beautiful grandchildren. I am joining the Pike Peaks rocks climb because I have had encounters with this terrible disease in many ways during my lifetime. My late husband and children’s father, Ricky, passed away at an early age, 13 years ago, from this disease. We all miss him dearly. My mother, who I also miss every day, passed away from this disease 12 years ago. I am dedicating my climb to the top to both Ricky and my Mom.

My husband Steve, who is a cancer survivor, was inspired to do this hike because of a very close friend who passed away 2 weeks ago after battling cancer for 9 years. His inspiration was contagious and I became inspired. I will also be hiking right beside my incredibly strong and courageous close friend, Janet, who is also a recent cancer survivor. Together we will be non stop talking the whole way up the mountain. (in spite of the altitude, I hope!)

I feel very excited and proud to undertake this challenge for such a wonderful cause and in the memory of all those we love and miss so dearly. They will all be in our hearts as we make our climb to the top!
