Love Hope Strength Foundation

Team Traveling Bones

Team Traveling Bones, Mike Johnson and Cara Winters, have come together in an effort to help promote and support the wider mission of Love Hope Strength Foundation in their home state of Colorado. Both Mike, who grew up in Montana, and Cara, who grew up all around the US and Canada, currently reside in Denver, although they are often to be found in the mountains, skiing, biking, hiking, or embarking on a hut trip. While in Denver, Mike spends his time as a volunteer lacrosse coach, volunteering on various non-profit boards, and running his own business, Eclipse Sign. He was a participant on the 2007 Everest Trek led by LHSF and feels particularly lucky to yet again be part of the upcoming Pikes Peak Rocks hike. Cara, an avid runner, currently works full-time in sales for Janus Capital Group based out of Denver and, on the side, fosters her wanderlust by traveling the world and her own backyard, often chronicling her adventures and experiences.

The duo, having met at a fitness bootcamp in Denver, both feel most engaged when involved in physical activity and the outdoors, so the musical pilgrimages that LHSF has led in the fight against cancer around the world seemed an especially apt way to participate in such a worthwhile cause. Fortunate to have good health, both have had close friends and family suffer through cancer and the wide range of not only physical, but emotional symptoms that the disease ravages upon the body. Seeing people they deeply cared for battle cancer courageously, led both to commit themselves to become involved in combating cancer when the occasion to do so presented itself. Mike and Cara couldn’t be more excited for the musical climb up Pike’s Peak in support of cancer in their home state!
