The White Buffalo

Jake Smith p/k/a/The White Buffalo is quite possibly a legend in the making, a throwback to the time of hard touring, hard drinking artists who really lived what they sang about. Everything about him is big, from his imposing physical size to his amazing vocal range. Heʼs as comfortable playing in a dive bar as he is in front of thousands in a European arena.

In 2005, Buffalo independently released his debut self titled EP in the US and in Australia/New Zealand via Weekend Records/ Liberation Music. Hitting the road in support of the EPʼs release, Buffalo found himself making the trip to Australia, Japan and Europe each twice with a few laps around the US as well. Supporting such artists as Gomez, Donavon Frankenreiter, Xavier Rudd, and Ziggy Marley. He appeared on the Falls Festival bill (Australia), selling more CDʼs than any other artist, which included the Shins, Wolfmother and the Dandy Warhols. In 2008, he reunited with old friends Matt Lynott (drums) and Tommy Andrews (bass) to add dynamic energy into his live set.

While entertaining offers and interests from labels, The White Buffalo returned to the studio to breathe some new life into some old recordings. In 2009, Buffalo will release the full length Hogtied Revisited, a collection of favorites, in addition to brand new tracks.

With only an EP out, but literally hundreds of songs written and more coming, the future is exciting for someone who has that much raw talent.
