I’m a 42-year old single mom from Colorado Springs. I have a 9 year old son and an 11-year-old daughter. I work as a Manager for Douglas County Dept of Human Services and have worked in the human services and nonprofit world for many years. I also have two rescued Beagles named George Burns and Gracie Allen.

Why I joined the Pikes Peak Rocks hiking team:
Both of my parents are cancer survivors, I have countless friends with cancer right now and have lost friends to cancer. On a personal note, I don’t currently have a cancer diagnosis, but have received 3 high tumor markers for breast cancer (CA 27-29) and an abnormal MRI, so it’s always in the back of my mind (i.e when will it happen?). I LOVE music; friends call me a music freak and I LOVE to hike mountains. No other event has so perfectly combined all I am passionate about into one great weekend. I want to be part of any group fighting the war on cancer-I do this for my kids
