Join musicians, cancer survivors and hundreds of supporters for a musically charged weekend in Vail.  Sign up today for the unique one-of-a-kind hike up Vail Mountain with your favorite rock stars enjoying acoustic musical performances and extraordinary views along the way. Followed by the hike is an evening filled with music in Vail Village.
The weekend’s music will be performed by our founder and 2-time Leukemia survivor Mike Peters of The AlarmSchool of Rock, The Fixx’s Cy Curnin, Scotty Stoughton from Bonfire Dub,  DJ AeroOnward Etc. and proudly announcing Colorado’s favorite vocal quartet, Devotchka to hike and rock with Love Hope Strength at Vail Rocks 2014!
Your participation in the third annual Vail Rocks event will help benefit the Love Hope Strength Foundation – SAVING LIVES, ONE CONCERT AT A TIME!

5:00 – 9:00 PM: Early bird check-in, registration and T-shirt pick-up. Lobby of The Sebastian Hotel – Vail.

7:00-9:30 PMGeorge Karl Foundation Reception. Cocktails, appetizers, music and bowling! Invitation only for all Artists, Sponsors and “Opening Act” and “Rock Star” Fundraisers (see ‘fundraising’ below for more info) sponsored by The George Karl Foundation.

9:00 PM – closing: We invite all hikers, fundraisers and the town of Vail to Rock and Roll Bol!  Enjoy our amazing guest DJ from LA, DJ Aero at Bol, come meet fellow hikers and LHS Supporters! 



7:00 AM: Registration &  Check-in, Morning Yoga and Music: at the base of Vail Village Gondola “One”. (Please note that participation is limited, online registration is strongly encouraged).

8:00 AM: Hike, Join us and our guides from Backpacker Magazine for a music filled 3 mile hike along the Berrypicker Trail from the base of Vail Mountain 8,120 ft (2,470 m) to Mid Vail 10,250 ft (3,530 m) with acoustic performance and activities along the way. Followed by your summit at Mid Vail, take in the views and relax with a private and one of a kind musical jam and group lunch. After lunch, hike down or ride down on the gondola to the village. Registered participants only.

5:00 PM: Free Concert at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village. It’s time to celebrate! Join us for a great concert featuring School of Rock with Mike Peters, Onward Etc. and Devotchka. Food and drink available for purchase. Open to the public. Free admission.

The registration fee for Vail Rocks is $99. But the more you pledge to fundraise, the lower your registration fee becomes! Kids under the age of 12 yrs hike free!  For kids, please include their ages on the sign up form under the Notes field.

Your entry fee covers the cost of your participation in Vail Rocks. It is your fundraising efforts that make the real difference in helping Love Hope Strength save lives, one concert at a time. Should you choose to you will be given a dedicated fundraising page that you may customize however you like! Here, you can let your friends know that you are taking on the challenge to climb Vail Mountain in the name of global cancer care. Your fundraising efforts will support our GET ON THE LIST campaign to register more marrow donors at concerts and event around the country. Over 60,000 marrow donors have been registered resulting in nearly 1,000 potentially life-saving matches including several from Vail Rocks 2012 and 2013!


The number of hikers for this event is limited, so we encourage you to register and start fundraising now. In the event that fundraising goals have not been met by August 15, balance of $99 registration fee will automatically be charged to your card upon check in for Vail Rocks. Registration fees will not be modified if actual fundraising exceeds the pledge level you select. All fundraising goals will be based on the individual level, not the team level. Donations made in the team name will not be allocated to individual participants. All invitations to The George Karl Foundation Reception are limited and on a first come basis as fundraising goals are reached.
