Music for Relief – Nepal

Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) is partnering with Music for Relief (MFR), a non-profit disaster relief organization founded by Linkin Park, in a campaign uniting the music industry and individuals in support of Nepal. LHS has heartfelt ties to Nepal having held two fundraising treks Everest Rocks I & II and concerts in support of hospitals throughout Kathmandu. Although LHS is a cancer foundation, we feel strongly about raising funds to support beautiful Nepal, where our journey of “Saving Lives One Concert At a Time” began.

Why Music For Relief?

Experts in disaster relief worldwide, Music for Relief has implemented successful fundraising and awareness programs following more than 25 disasters on four continents. With established relationships in humanitarian aid, disaster response communities and other artist and entertainment foundations, MFR uses the power of music like LHS to unite for a greater good. Music for Relief has been working in Nepal since 2013, implementing clean biogas cook stoves for families without electricity. Both foundations have previous ties to Nepal and agree by teaming to unite musicians; funds and efforts will be maximized for the Nepalese.

Why Support Nepal?

Before the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, Nepal ranked “low” on the United Nation’s Human Development Index – 145th out of 187 countries and territories – a figure that reflects the country’s low life expectancy, low mean years of schooling, and relatively low amount of Gross Income and Purchasing Power Parity. Nepal has relied on international development aid for decades and will be facing the devastation from the earthquake for years to come. The death toll is rising, and thousands continue to be homeless and many of the beautiful temples and monuments that make the country so amazing, destroyed. It’s up to individuals and organizations with a large reach and global influence – to help Nepal. We hope you will join our cause and help us support Nepal. This video shares the adoration we have for Nepal; http://nyti.ms/1JJWH4S, which is now this.

You can help provide direct medical care, food and water during this devastation. To learn more about MFR or to make a donation please go to www.musicforrelief.org/nepal today!
